Requirements for validation of European Patents:
The Claims of the EP Patent must be translated into Icelandic. The Description and the Text in the Drawings may, at the Patentee’s option, be in English or Icelandic, regardless of the official language of the EP Patent;
The translated papers must be on file at the Icelandic Patent Office within four months from the date on which the European Patent Bulletin mentions the grant of the EP Patent.
This term is not extendable, unless exceptionally Section 78, cf. Section 72, of the Icelandic Patent Act No. 19 1991, as amended, would apply.These provisions and their application are essentially the same as EPC Article 122 and its application.
